In 2023, our team was in charge of assembling Central Park, on deck 8 of the Icon of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world
Implementation of the living walls
The assembly of the walls began with the installation of dozens of PVC boards. Once fixed to the ship’s wall fittings, the joints are sealed with silicone. The joints are then covered with a waterproof insulating tape. Next, a waterproof membrane is installed to distribute the water. The rails are installed and the irrigation pipes are laid. And everything is ready to place the final plants.
Icon of the Seas is a cruise ship built for Royal Caribbean International and is the lead ship of the Icon class.
It has 20 decks with seven swimming pools and six water slides. The company claims the ship has the tallest waterfall, the tallest water slide, and the largest waterpark of any cruise ship.
